I’m a huge fan of animal artist as well as writer Bernadette Kazmarski. Her photos as well as feline paintings catch the essence of cats in methods that only a little handful of artists are able to do. Bernadette is a multi-faceted innovative spirit:  artist, writer, graphic designer, painter, animal advocate, environmentalist.  From commissioned pet portraits to animal influenced merchandise ranging from prints to textiles to greeting cards, looking around Bernadette’s websites are a feast for the senses.

Great Rescues is a 16-month desk calendar as well as gift book featuring 16 portraits of rescued cats Bernadette has been commissioned to paint in the 20 years she has been an animal portrait artist. This sixteen-month calendar as well as gift book is a labor of love.

“While the portraits are lovely as well as I’m proud of my body of work, the stories of these cats, as well as the people who rescued them, were what compelled me to share them,” says Bernadette. “Each of the stories tells of cats from shelters as well as cats abandoned as well as saved, cats discovered inside vehicle engines as well as cats reluctantly surrendered by people who might no longer care for them, however each one has a happy ending as a treasured buddy in a loving home.”

I’m especially thrilled that “Peaches” made it into the calendar. I commissioned this painting as a Christmas gift for a buddy last year. The original was absolutely stunning. It’s always difficult to tell when you have an artist paint somebody else’s feline whether they truly caught the animal’s spirit. I believe that’s something only the pet’s person can truly judge. My friend burst into tears when she opened her gift – that most likely speaks volumes, particularly since she’s not somebody who cries easily. The painting not only caught Peaches’ spirit, it likewise brought a tremendous amount of peace to my friend. Peaches, at this writing, is 19 years old, as well as my buddy is well conscious that time is short. She says the painting will assist her keep a part of Peaches with her forever, in a extremely concrete way.

This is one of the most gorgeous feline calendars I’ve seen. The paintings are stunningly beautiful, as well as the stories are heart touching.  as well as it’s so much more than just a calendar. It likewise includes a comprehensive resource section covering feline wellness, health and wellness concerns, home toxins as well as poisons, fun feline facts, as well as more. The spiral bound book likewise contains a generous amount of blank pages (with a gorgeous faint feline style in the background) for notes, or journaling.

The calendar runs from September 2011 with December 2012. You can order the calendar directly with Benadette’s website for the incredibly low cost of $19.99 plus shipping. even though it’s only July, it’s never to early to order Christmas provides – fantastic Rescues makes a purrfect gift for the feline enthusiasts on your list.

I would like to win this calendar as well as book. I would hang the calendar in my office to remind people exactly how important it is to rescue/adopt. as well as I would provide the book to my Mother. She is no longer able to care for a feline ? since her last one passed away a couple of years back she has truly been lonesome for the bond she shared all her life with cats. She does still put out a bowl of dry food every day for the travelers that go with her back lawn though. I believe this would be a lovely book for her. When I go to the kitteh food store, she always likes to go, so she can look at all the kinullnull
